Coaching is different from psychotherapy in that it does not focus so much on diagnosis, dysfunction and fixing problems from the past, but rather on building upon the strengths that already exist to create change for a greater future.
Coaching is generally intended for people who are already successful and who see coaching as something valuable to assist them in achieving more, making big life changes, and living the quality of life they truly desire.
As your coach, my job is to assist you in discovering what it is that you desire to create in various areas of your life, identify what’s getting in the way of that, and come up with a very specific plan to change it.
Contact between coach and client is typically more frequent than in therapy, and there is a higher level of accountability and work that happens on the client’s part in between sessions, including the implementation of a variety of self-help tools that are taught during the coaching sessions.
